Etiquette

The art of feeling, and making others feel, at ease in every occasion

In short

An etiquette course designed for those who want to move with ease in every situation. Not a list of bon ton rules to memorize, but a method for understanding why good manners truly help us in everyday life.

Because galateo is a way of being, one that speaks of respect and avoids unnecessary discomfort.

Who it's
for

Private individuals, freelance professionals and anyone working with the public. Or simply anyone who believes good manners have never gone out of style.

Objectives

• Knowing galateo for what it truly is: a way of being, not a list of rules to memorize.
• Grasping the difference between bon ton, galateo and etiquette, and why it matters.
• Feeling at ease in any situation, without playing a part.
• Taking care of image, bearing and way of communicating as a natural expression of self.
• Recognizing dress codes and dressing appropriately for every occasion.
• Knowing how to converse: listening, speaking up, finding the right tone.
• Avoiding gaffes and lapses in style, so that "class is forever" doesn't remain just a saying.

Topics covered

• The foundations of galateo: understanding and respecting every context, and every person.
• The relationship with yourself: image, bearing, elegance.
• The relationship with others: introductions, greetings, small courtesies.
• Knowing how to communicate: conversation, listening, writing.
• At the table: mise en place, toasts and courses.
• Knowing how to host: guests and hosts.
• Out and about: moving well in every setting.
• The dress code: everyday and for special occasions.
• The digital world: good manners online too.
• Relationships and special occasions: when galateo makes the difference.

Where to start

To start, I recommend a path of 4 sessions of an hour and a half each, dedicated to the fundamental topics:

• The basics of galateo: respect for contexts and people, image and bearing.
• The relationship with others: introductions, greetings, conversation.
• Galateo at the table: mise en place, toasts, courses.
• Knowing how to host and dress code: guests, hosts, and what to wear for every occasion.
